Drum Counter Reset

When you replace the drum unit with a new one, you must reset the drum counter by following the steps below, depending on your printer model:

HL-L1240W, HL-L1242W

• Make sure the printer is turned on.
• Ensure the front cover is open.
• Press the On/Off button four times.
• Close the front cover.
• Verify that the Drum indicator light is now off.

DCP-L1640W, DCP-L1642W, DCP-L1660W

• Make sure the printer is turned on.
• Ensure the printer cover is closed.
• Press the OK and ▲ (Up Arrow) buttons simultaneously.
• Press OK to select [Drum].
• Press ▲ (Up Arrow) to reset the drum counter.

⚠ IMPORTANT:
Do not reset the drum counter unless you have replaced the drum unit with a new one.
